Businesses conducting qualified research and development (R&D) activities in Oklahoma should be aware of a recent announcement from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce regarding the state's R&D Rebate Program. The Department has announced that, because no appropriation was made to the R&D Rebate Fund in 2026, no awards will be issued to 2025 applicants. The Department has indicated it will accept applications for the 2026 program year from November 1 through December 31, 2026; however, the availability of future rebates remains contingent upon legislative appropriations to the fund. Companies performing qualified R&D activities in Oklahoma should continue monitoring the program for funding developments and evaluate future application opportunities as they arise.
The Oklahoma rebate program is separate from, and does not impact eligibility for, the federal R&D credit.
