Our Work in Action

We recently worked with a manufacturer and distributor of mouldings, doors, and windows, with operations spanning North and South America. As a privately held company with a significant footprint in California, they faced new regulatory obligations under California’s Climate Compliance State Bills SB 253 and SB 261, requiring greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions disclosures and climate risk reporting.

Eide Bailly partnered with this client to deliver a comprehensive climate consulting engagement. The project established a GHG baseline for FY 2024 and prepared a Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)-aligned report for submission to the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

Scope of Services

  • Conducted a portfolio-wide review to identify GHG emission sources across manufacturing, distribution, and corporate facilities.
  • Completed GHG emissions calculations including scope 1 and 2 emissions.
  • We will deliver a climate readiness assessment across TCFD pillars: Governance, Strategy, Risk Management, and Metrics & Targets for SB 253 submission.

Results & Impact

  • Our work enabled the client to meet California’s climate disclosure deadlines ahead of the January 1, 2026 cutoff.
  • Positioned the company for future assurance work under SB 261, with clear guidance to coordinate with their financial statement auditor.
  • Strengthened internal awareness of climate risks and readiness across departments, including tax, accounting, and operations.
