OVERVIEW

Michael provides assurance and consulting services to community bank clients to meet their growing list of needs. Using his unique work experience and analytical skill set, Michael listens to the needs of management and develops institution-specific solutions and recommendations.

When you work with Michael, you will be working with someone who has "been in your shoes." As a former community bank CFO, Michael intimately understands the challenges community bank's face today. This experience provides a unique skill set where he understands the day-to-day challenges faced by management.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys cooking, grilling, yard work and golfing.

KNOWLEDGE

Client Work

  • Approximately 13 years of financial institution experience, which includes 4 years in public accounting, 5 years in community banking (most recently as a CFO) and 4 years in accounting at a publicly traded life insurance company serving as Director of Accounting.
  • Provides a full range of assurance and consulting services to community banks, including audits, directors examinations, loan review and interest rate and liquidity risk review.
  • Developed community bank interest rate risk management program, including governance practices and reporting, assumptions and supporting documentation, back testing, independent review and scenario-specific testing.
  • Developed a fully integrated community bank liquidity risk management system, including governance oversight, liquidity measurement, monitoring and reporting, liquidity stress testing and a contingency funding plan.
  • Actively managed all aspects of a community bank fixed income bond portfolio of over $150 million, including strategy formulation and integration of the portfolio into liquidity and interest rate risk management.
