FARGO, ND — On May 1, 14 staff members were accepted into the partnership of Eide Bailly LLP, a regional certified public accounting and business advisory firm. This brings the total number of partners to 237.

The new partners are:
Thomas Ahrens, CPA, has more than 10 years of public accounting experience providing services to a variety of industries, including real estate, construction, manufacturing, medical, professional services and nonprofit organizations. He has extensive experience in tax consulting and compliance of pass-through entities and high net-worth individuals. Ahrens received his Bachelor of Science in business administration and accounting from Colorado State University, Fort Collins. He works in Eide Bailly’s Fort Collins office.
Pam Eggert, CPA, has more than 10 years public accounting experience providing audit services to a variety of clients, including nonprofit organizations, affordable housing, general commercial and manufacturing companies. She serves as manager and key client contact for a variety of engagements, including audits, reviews and compilations performed in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS) and SSARS. Eggert also reviews internal controls and assesses the risk of fraud for identified weaknesses and recommends improvements to management and those charged with governance. She has Bachelor’s Degree in accountancy and finance from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Eggert works in Eide Bailly’s Phoenix office.
Toby Hazen, CPA, has more than 18 years of public accounting experience providing clients with income tax compliance and tax advisory services, as well as reviews and compilations of financial statements. He serves a variety of clients including closely-held businesses and their owners, family limited partnerships, small business corporations, consolidated corporations, multi-state corporations, estates, trusts and high net-worth individuals. Hazen has expertise in a variety of industries but specializes in manufacturing, dealerships, retail, health care and professional services. He also provides tax and consulting services to closely held businesses in the areas of business entity choice, passive activity issues, executive compensation, business succession planning and estate and gift tax planning. He has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Northwest Nazarene College, Nampa, Idaho, and works in our Boise, Idaho, office.
Angie Hillestad, CPA, CGMA, has more than nine years of experience providing audit, review and accounting services to a variety of industries, including nonprofit, health care and senior living, and closely held businesses, with a primary focus in the nonprofit sector. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Professional Accountancy from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Hillestad works in Eide Bailly’s Sioux Falls, S.D., office.
David Frank, CPA, has more than 10 years of public accounting experience providing tax and consulting services to a variety of industries, including lodging, agriculture, agricultural cooperatives and other small businesses. Frank is a member of Eide Bailly's Aberdeen Wealth Transition Committee and serves as the Aberdeen office Repair Regulation Champion, providing expertise on these matters when needed. He has a Bachelor of Science in professional accountancy and business management from Northern State University, Aberdeen, S.D., and works in Eide Bailly’s Aberdeen office.
Ann Glenz, CPA, has more than 11 years public accounting experience providing audit and accounting services to a variety of clients, including SEC registrants, manufacturers, general commercial entities, investment companies and nonprofit organizations. She is a member of the firm's National Assurance Office and assists in developing policies and procedures, implementing improvements, performing research and proposing guidance to address issues on a firmwide level. She has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn., and works in Eide Bailly’s Minneapolis office.
Sara Kurtz, CPA, has more than nine years public accounting experience providing services to local governments, including cities, townships, counties and school districts. She has experience with A-133 Single Audits and works with a variety of federal grants and agencies. Kurtz is a frequent speaker and trainer on governmental topics. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Kurtz works in Eide Bailly’s Denver office.
Katie Moch, CPA, has more than nine years of public accounting experience providing services to a variety of industries, specializing in governments, nonprofit organizations and small businesses. She plans, performs, supervises and reviews audit engagements for clients. She received her Bachelor of Science in accounting from St. Cloud State University, St. Could, Minn., and works in Eide Bailly’s Bismarck, N.D., office.
Ben Peeler, J.D., CPA, LL.M., has more than 18 years of tax experience as a federal tax, controversy and procedure specialist; he leads Eide Bailly's IRS Practices & Procedures area. Peeler works with clients in the controversy areas relating to income tax, estate and gift tax, property tax, employment tax and other various tax matters. He represents clients before the IRS in examination, appeals, collection, penalty abatement, audit reconsideration, interest abatement and interest netting. Before coming to Eide Bailly, he worked as an attorney for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, representing the IRS before the United States Tax Court in large and specially designated tax cases, and in litigation before the federal district court as a special assistant to the United States Attorney. He earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City; his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco; and his LL.M. in taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law. He works in Eide Bailly’s Salt Lake City office.
Brad Poll, CPA, has more than 10 years of public accounting experience. He provides strategy planning and compliance for corporations, partnerships and small business owners, as well as general consulting services to businesses and their owners. Poll also has experience with ERISA retirement administration. He has a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Master of Professional Accountancy from Weber State University, Ogden, Utah. Poll works in Eide Bailly’s Ogden office.
Jill Schneider, CPA, has more than 14 years public accounting experience with an emphasis in financial institution taxation and consulting, closely held business and individual taxation. She assists business and individual clients in tax planning and return preparation throughout the year, conducts tax research projects and communicates current tax developments to clients and staff. She has assisted financial institutions with regulatory application filings for acquisitions, mergers and branching, as well as preparation of Form 5500 for their employee benefit programs. She regularly advises clients regarding tax
planning issues, executive compensation formations and tax ramifications of management decisions. She is a graduate of the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D., and the Dakota School of Banking. She works in Eide Bailly’s Fargo, N.D., office.
Todd Sorenson, CPA, has more than 14 years of public accounting experience providing accounting and assurance services primarily to financial institutions, both publicly and privately held. He has experience planning, supervising and reviewing financial institution audit engagements, as well as supervising and reviewing compliance engagements. He has performed and supervised employee benefit plan audits and assisted clients in accounting matters, initial public offerings, and other capital raise and debt issuance activities and reporting requirements. He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accounting from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. He works in Eide Bailly’s Phoenix office.
Amber Tyler, CPA, CFE, has more than 11 years of experience providing accounting services, such as audit, review and agreed-upon procedures, to publicly traded and privately held entities. She serves a variety of industries, including manufacturing, professional services, oil and gas, nonprofit and employee benefit plans. Tyler also serves as a consultant to nonprofit organizations on various financial matters. She received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Southern Nazarene University, Bethany, Okla., and works in Eide Bailly’s Norman office.
Brian Unsen, CPA, has more than 17 years public accounting experience. He conducts audits of governmental entities and nonprofit organizations. He shares his expertise with a government entities in Iowa, including the cities of Dubuque, Asbury, Cedar Falls, Iowa City, Marshalltown, Ames, West Des Moines and Urbandale, Iowa; the counties of Linn, Benton, Dubuque and Louisa, Iowa; Davenport Community School District; and Cedar Falls Utilities. Unsen also serves on the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants Governmental Auditing and Accounting Committee and Government Finance Officers Association Special Review Committee. He received his Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa. He works in Eide Bailly’s Dubuque office.
