PHOENIX, AZ — Eide Bailly LLP, a regional certified public accounting and business advisory firm, is growing its financial institutions team with the addition of Gary Smith, CPA, who joined the firm on June 1. He has more than 20 years public accounting experience providing audit, accounting and consulting services to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), public sector and financial institution clients.

Smith plans, supervises and reviews financial institution audit engagements, ranging in size up to $10 billion. Smith has specific expertise on SEC and large bank clients. "Because larger banks tend to be exposed to all areas of operations, regulatory and financial accounting matters, Eide Bailly is a central hub for information, answers and solutions." Smith says. "As our bank clients grow their businesses, I can draw on my past experience, which includes providing guidance to larger banks that acquired distressed banks through FDIC-assisted transactions, to help them succeed in this exciting transition."
Smith earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, Smith received the 2008 Arizona Business Magazine’s Center of Influence Award for being one of Arizona’s most influential and impacting Certified Public Accountants.
