Congratulations to Project Chimps

Eide Bailly, a national certified public accounting and business advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Project Chimps, a chimpanzee sanctuary in Morganton, Georgia, has been selected as the recipient of the 2023 Resourcefullness Award.

“We are honored to be recognized as this year’s Resourcefullness Award winner,” said Angie Smith, Project Chimps Board Member. “This grant will help us continue to innovate and expand our reach to help chimps at the sanctuary and those still in need of rescue.”

Eide Bailly's annual Resourcefullness Award recognizes exceptional nonprofit organizations that demonstrate ingenuity and sustainability in generating revenue. This nationwide award presents an opportunity for one 501(c)(3) organization to secure a generous $50,000 prize.

“We are proud to continue showing our commitment to the nonprofit community through the Eide Bailly Resourcefullness Award,” expressed Deb Nelson, Partner and Industry Leader of Eide Bailly’s nonprofit group. “The innovative and creative ideas that are shared each year continue to inspire us.”

Project Chimps
Project Chimps is the newest chimpanzee sanctuary in the United States and was founded to provide lifelong exemplary care to 200 former research chimpanzees at its sanctuary on 230+ acres of forested land in the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia. Today, Project Chimps is home to 95 chimpanzees, and the organization is working to move nearly 100 more to permanent sanctuary.

Their award-winning initiative, the Chimp Trails, is a series of hiking trails spanning four miles of the sanctuary. This creative idea offers visitors a unique opportunity to visit the sanctuary without interrupting the daily lives of its resident chimpanzees. Since launching this project, Project Chimps has attracted over 5,000 new supporters each year.

The sanctuary is occasionally open to the public for special events and group tours. Learn more at www.projectchimps.org.
