Scott leads Eide Bailly’s Internal Audit practice and serves clients across a variety of industries. He assists and advises organizations on internal control and governance, business process and restructuring, merger and acquisitions, organizational leadership as it relates to internal audit and compliance functions. Scott's areas of expertise include finance and accounting, internal controls, risk management, organizational leadership, merger and acquisitions, strategic planning and transaction execution. He leads the firm’s Health System Market Segment and serves on the Healthcare Executive Council.

Scott is a huge basketball fan. He plays regularly and enjoys cheering on Marquette University and the Minnesota Timberwolves. He also enjoys jogging, reading and golf. He has run a variety of distance races but now really enjoys three-mile jogs around local lakes.

Client Work

  • Advised healthcare organizations ranging in size from $10 million in revenue to more than $2 billion.
  • Performed in-depth analyses of managed care contract requirements for an internal audit department of a large public health insurer, resulting in recovery of amounts in excess of several millions of dollars and identified issues with contract compliance.
  • Conducted and led internal control and process reviews in the areas of billing, expenditures, IT security and other unique risk areas.
  • Directed SEC engagements, including Sarbanes-Oxley internal control engagements and regulatory engagements (A-133), responding to regulatory questions on compliance, internal controls and reporting.
  • Frequent presenter at internal and external continuing professional education events, on risk assessment, internal control, board governance, IT and cybersecurity and other industry developments. Performed risk assessment and strategy projects to help businesses better identify and manage strategic and operational risks.
