My experience allows me to better understand the inner workings and challenges of the nonprofit industry, and apply that knowledge to meet my clients' needs. I enjoy educating board members, managers and staff of nonprofit organizations, and empowering them with knowledge. They, in turn, expose me to fresh ideas, innovative strategies and successful techniques in this rapidly changing industry.
Tim has been a CPA since 1979. He serves a wide variety of nonprofit entities and has been actively involved at the state and national levels through his involvement with the Colorado Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Tim also spent eight years as CFO for a large Colorado nonprofit during a critical time in its history. He specializes in audit, tax and advisory services. In addition, Tim teaches advanced not-for-profit financial accounting and reporting classes.
Tim understands that, in addition to maintaining the highest level of technical ability, clients appreciate his commitment and attention to managing the details. Clients also appreciate how he maintains a big-picture view of their organization's strategic objectives, operating realities and programmatic goals. Tim provides his clients with sound, experienced advice and has a flair for the creative.
Tim's hobbies include physical fitness, and his goal is a minimum of 60 minutes of cardio and 350 abdominal crunches a day, which allows him to enjoy craft beers and fine wines, especially while traveling the world. He is a self-taught home improvement and repair hobbyist, originally out of financial necessity but now as a way of balancing the tough mental challenges of being a CPA professional with the physical demands of building and fixing things. He once installed his own central air conditioning system, including all the electrical work - and that house is still standing! Tim even expands on this hobby by helping friends and family with their home improvement and repair projects.
