Dealership Financial Statements: Learning how to read and analyze your numbers


Course Description:
Your dealership has specific challenges, goals and potential. Its important that you know how your dealership financial statement can tie into your overall dealership health. In this one hour virtual workshop, Senior Manager Dealership Consultant Bob Holder will provide insight and guidance on what a dealer owner or department manager should be concentrating on. Every department has important areas to analyze when identifying opportunities for performance improvement and profitability. Bob will introduce Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from financial statements your dealership can use to bring forward performance improvement and profitability opportunities.

  • View the layout of a common dealership financial statement and discuss how to use it as an analytical tool.
  • Identify metrics used to analyze the balance sheet.
  • Discuss gross profit by department and components within the departments.
  • Compare expense results to industry norms, benchmarks, etc.
  • Review accounting for other income and deducts
  • Discuss trend analysis
  • Determine how to use the data in the memo accounts.
