Nonprofit Organizations – Understanding the Basics
Not all nonprofit organizations are equal in the eyes of the IRS. This session will provide clarity of the difference between “nonprofit”, “tax-exempt”, and “public charity”. It will also provide resources you can use to determine whether the organization you plan to donate to is a qualified 501(c)(3) organization.
Charitable Substantiation – What must a donor receive to support a charitable gift?
For charitable organizations, this session will provide a summary of the information donors need to support a charitable gift. It will also address payments commonly made to charitable organizations that are not considered gifts.
Charitable Giving – Beyond the Cash Donation
This session will highlight charitable giving techniques for both current gifts and planned giving.
