CAH Webinar Series - Tax and Reimbursement Hot Topics

The implementation of tax reform is taking top priority at the IRS as guidance is needed on how various provisions impact exempt organizations. However, the IRS and others continue to focus on other aspects of the tax law that impact exempt organizations through examinations, rulings and continued scrutiny of the community benefit provided. In this session we will cover a variety of tax topics that need to be on the minds of critical access hospital leaders. As Medicare cost-reimbursement is important to the survival of your critical access hospital, changes and interpretations of the rules and regulations can impact that reimbursement from year-to-year. This session will also discuss recent interpretations coming from Medicare Administrative Contractors that could impact your reimbursement.

Learning Objectives
• Review key aspects of tax reform that impacts critical access hospitals.
• Discuss guidance that has been provided to date.
• Identify areas of focus for the IRS in enforcing tax law specific in the hospital segment.
• Provide clarity on recent MAC interpretations.
• Discuss strategies to improve your current cost-based reimbursement.
