Mike has more than 20 years of experience in state and local tax with an emphasis in the sales tax area. He has represented clients in every state for income and sales tax issues and is a recognized multi-state expert and frequent national speaker. Mike has vast experience in income tax, franchise tax, gross receipts, personal and real property, and unclaimed property. 

Jenni Huotari, CPA, Partner – Eide Bailly
Jenni has more than 12 years of public accounting experience providing audit and accounting services to clients in a variety of industries. She currently works as part of Eide Bailly’s National Assurance Office providing communication and training relating to new accounting and auditing standards, as well as reviewing and approving engagement consultations, including independence issues. Responsibilities also include participating in the Firm’s internal inspection process, as well as participant on external Peer Reviews, and involvement in due diligence of potential practice acquisitions and integration of acquired practices. She leads the firms Business Outsource & Strategy team. 

David Casper, CPA, State and Local Tax Senior Associate – Eide Bailly
David has more than 16 years of experience with agricultural equipment dealerships, and has provided sales tax support to 100 retail locations in 11 states. He provides tax advice to clients and has experience facilitating the completion of sales tax returns in excess of $3 million, and is also experienced in creating and delivering workshops related to State and Local Tax (SALT) issues. David has lead internal audit proceedings from start to finish including protest letters and final payment. He also created a process to flag qualifying invoices and submission for state refunds.

Christine is a sales tax expert at Avalara, and specializes in sales tax compliance software. Avalara software provides solution for various transactional taxes, including sales and use, VAT, excise, communications, and others.
