The state and local tax landscape is constantly changing, and there are many things companies need to keep in mind when conducting business in Utah. Join us to learn more about the current hot topics in state and local tax for Utah businesses, includuing nexus triggers, apportionment, and other common SALT issues.

  • Discuss common SALT issues Utah businnesses are currently facing
  • Outline the nexus triggers – what's taxable, what's not?
  • Discuss apportionment issues, including those related to Saas (cloud computing) software
  • Review California law, opportunities and issues 
  • Identify the VDA process

Laura Robichaud, DBA, MBA, State and Local Tax Senior Manager

Laura has more than 8 years of financial and tax experience, and extensive knowledge in Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) and Use tax, as well as a variety of other state and local tax issues. She serves a wide variety of industries consulting on taxability issues, and is also experienced in state and local litigation issues, appeals, informal petitions and penalty abatement.

Jennifer Edwards, State and Local Tax Manager
Jennifer has more than 17 years of experience in all areas of federal and state tax compliance. She assists mid-sized, multi-state companies with a variety of federal and state tax services, including income tax planning, income tax return compliance and support, and SALT services. Her specific SALT experience includes nexus studies, sales taxability analysis, voluntary disclosure agreements, sales and use tax consulting and sales tax audit support.
