In 2012, the IRS launched a program for people with undisclosed income in offshore accounts. This program gives those who qualify the chance to disclose this offshore income on their tax returns. These individuals will be subject to a penalty; however, this penalty is a small price to pay to avoid criminal prosecution by the IRS. Changes have been made to the program in 2014. Mike has more than 15 years of experience working in tax with partnerships, S corporations, corporations, individual, trusts and nonprofit tax. He specializes in international taxation, specifically as it relates to individuals. His experience includes both U.S. citizens (and Green Card holders) working abroad, and individuals from foreign countries working in the United States, as well as the various reporting obligations stemming from these situations.
