What's a SNF PPS Rate?

The Prospective Payment System (PPS) for Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) was created by the Balanced Budget Act of 1997. Use the helpful Excel spreadsheets linked below to determine your wage adjusted Federal Rate updated for the 10/1/2017 and/or 10/1/2018 rate changes.

When using the spreadsheet please check the tab at the bottom left of your screen to select "urban" or "rural", then enter the appropriate wage index where indicated. The calculations are automatically made for you.

** The October 2017 – September 2018 wage index factors were updated based on CMS Correction Notice provided in the Federal Register on October 4, 2017**
