2017 Affordable Care Act Forms Released

August 10, 2017

The IRS has released draft versions of Forms 1094 and 1095 for 2017 Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance, with minimal changes from the 2016 forms.

Although there was much debate about the repeal and replacement of the ACA, in the end, nothing changed. Therefore, compliance with the rules of the ACA by providing the necessary forms to employees and the IRS is still required to avoid costly penalties.

Deadlines
As you plan ahead, make note that the deadline for completing and submitting the Form 1095 to employees is January 31, 2018, and the 1094 and 1095 Forms submission deadline for the IRS is February 28, 2018, if paper filed, or March 31, 2018, if e-filed.
