The Prospective Payment System (PPS) for Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) was created by the Balanced Budget Act of 1997.
Use the helpful Excel spreadsheet linked below to determine your wage adjusted Federal Rate updated for the 10/1/09 rate changes.
When using the spreadsheet please check the tab at the bottom left of your screen to select "urban" or "rural", then enter the
appropriate wage index where indicated. The calculations are automatically made for you.
