Important information regarding the October 1, 2010 SNF PPS rates:
With the healthcare reform bill, MDS 3.0 was signed into legislation and will be effective October 1, 2010. The MDS 3.0 forms coincide with the RUGS IV payment structure which includes 66 RUGS rates instead of the 53 rates under RUGS III. Recently Congress passed legislation to correct the implementation date of RUGs IV to coincide with the implementation date of MDS 3.0. As a result, the RUGs IV rates that were implemented October 1, 2010 will remain in effect for the remainder of federal fiscal year 2011.
