JoNell has more than 38 years experience in the health care industry. As a registered nurse, she has first-hand clinical experience in surgical, medical, neurological, rehabilitation, coronary care and intensive care units. JoNell conducts chargemaster reviews for health care entities. She is a frequent guest speaker at national and regional health care organizations and industry meetings on health care industry issues.
She specializes in consulting, litigation support, corporate compliance programs, compliance audits and documentation requirements in the medical field, as well as training providers on Medicare and other third-party payer regulations, coverage and reimbursement. JoNell also has extensive experience in Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) reviews, compliance, risk assessment, charge generation, coding, billing and payment processes.
Outside of her professional life, JoNell stays active by exercising and keeping up with her grandchildren. She also enjoys watching sporting events, singing and reading.
