Jason's Story

Jason's Story

Jason is MORE than an accountant, he's a grill master. Through focused learning, he has become a barbeque connoisseur and a forensic services specialist.

Jason Olson discovered a passion for forensic accounting in his first year of college. Soon after, he learned he could specialize in this area at Eide Bailly. "I wanted to work for a well-known firm in the industry with a real niche in the market. I was attracted to Eide Bailly's Forensic Accounting division because, unlike other firms, they provide more than just civil litigation and legal dispute support. Starting with my internship, I was given the opportunity to specialize in all areas of fraud, including investigation, detection and prevention," Jason explains.

Jason is thankful for the instruction he receives from the Firm, which extends beyond training. His managers recognized his leadership qualities and passion, and quickly gave Jason more client interaction and responsibilities. To better serve his clients, Jason chose to further his education. "Our tuition reimbursement policy made it possible for me to pursue an MBA in economic crime and fraud management. With the Firm's support, I excel at what I enjoy most-‘grilling' suspects in a forensic accounting case, with personal time remaining to refine my skills at the barbeque grill."

Eide Bailly's in-depth knowledge of specialized areas allows the Firm to better meet client needs. "When we use this knowledge to help our clients, we build credibility and become leaders in the field," Jason says. Specialization is beneficial to both clients and staff. Within five years, Jason was provided the opportunity to manage and build the forensic practice in one of the Firm's metro offices.

The ability to specialize has allowed Jason to be more than an accountant-he's a leader and a grill master.
